Crankbait development without limits, with amazing performance

To stand out in the crankbait market, a company must possess in-depth knowledge of hydrodynamics, materials, and components. The G87 20A development was carefully planned by the DUO research and development team. Professional anglers have long desired a crankbait truly capable of diving beyond 20 feet (6 meters) and accurately reaching its target. While getting a lure deep is not a major challenge, for the lure to remain balanced like an arrow, cut through the air with minimal crosswind effect, stay in the strike zone longer, and exhibit low winding resistance requires extraordinary precision. Masahiro Adachi, DUO's chief designer, masterfully achieved all this.

“During the two-year project, our R&D results set a new standard for deep-diving crankbaits. While most anglers are content if their deep crank reaches 130 feet (approx. 40 meters) and are impressed if it performs beyond 150 feet (approx. 46 meters), the G87 20A consistently surpasses 200 feet (60 meters) with 12lb line. Compared to the top deep cranks currently used by pro anglers, it can achieve an advantage of up to 80 feet (approx. 24 meters). Although the lure was designed for a depth of 20 feet, through Mr. Adachi's efforts, it can reach depths of up to 27 feet (8 meters) with a single cast and retrieve,” says Swendseid.

This excellent diving capability is due to the most advanced weight transfer system for deep-diving crankbaits, which will soon be used in professional bass fishing tournaments. The G87's enlarged magnetic ballast system keeps the casting bearing hidden outside the body cavity, where it is held by a Neodymium magnet. This material is much stronger than ordinary magnesium and is essential for the large-sized bearing.

The 20A body is approximately 3 inches (7,6 cm) long and weighs 35 grams (1-1/5 oz). Although heavy in appearance, it exhibits lower water resistance and line tension during retrieval than expected. Mr. Adachi's goal was to create a lure that casts effortlessly far and dives deep into the darkest depths, without any strain.
