The development of the G87 was carefully initiated by DUO's R&D team. Professional anglers have long craved a crankbait that dives deep and hits the target with precision. While getting a bait deep is not a huge challenge, getting a bait to stay balanced, accurate as an arrow, to traverse the air with minimal crosswinds, to stay in the catch zone longer and to have low reel drag requires extreme precision. This has been masterfully achieved by DUO's chief designer Masahiro Adachi.

The G87 15A retains its 87mm profile, advanced weight transfer system and deep-diving design desired by professional anglers. This niche lure effortlessly plunges to depths of 14-16 feet (4-5 m) and offers a pronounced, yet smooth swing with low hydrodynamic drag. This allows the angler to achieve much more without experiencing extra weight and fatigue.

This excellent sinking ability is the result of the most advanced weight transfer system in deep-diving crankbaits, which will soon be used in professional bass fishing tournaments. The G87's enlarged magnetic ballast system keeps the drum bed hidden outside the body cavity, where it is secured by a Neodymium magnet. This material is much stronger than standard magnesium and is essential for the large size of the bearing.

The G87 has a body length of approximately 3.5 inches (9 cm) and weighs 35 grams (1-1/5 oz). Although it may seem heavy, it has lower than expected water resistance and line tension during rewinding. Mr. Adachi' s goal was to create a lure that would easily travel far and deep into the darkest depths without any strain.

The G87 has broken through what many considered the final barrier to crankbait development and created a new milestone. Not only was it the first bait of its kind in the world, but it also opened a new peak and new frontiers in crankbait engineering.
