Crankbait development without limits, with amazing performance

To excel in the crankbait market, a company must have in-depth knowledge of hydrodynamics, materials and components. It must provide excellent balance, castability, obstacle avoidance, unique but proven vibration and low line tension during rewind. The development of the G87 20A was carefully planned by DUO's R&D team. Professional anglers have long coveted a crankbait that can truly dive to depths over 20 feet (6 meters) and hit its target with precision. While getting a bait deep is not a challenge, getting the bait to balance like an arrow, traverse the air with minimal crosswinds, stay in the catch zone longer and exhibit low reel drag requires extreme precision. Masahiro Adachi, DUO's chief designer, has masterfully achieved all of this.

"Over the course of a two-year project, our R&D results have set a new benchmark for deep-diving crankbaits. While most anglers are satisfied when their deep crank reaches 130 feet (about 40 meters) and impressed when it performs above 150 feet (about 46 meters), the G87 20A consistently exceeds 200 feet (60 meters) with 12-pound lines. Compared to the top deep crankbaits currently used by professional anglers, it achieves an advantage of up to 80 feet (about 24 meters). Although the lure is designed for a depth of 20 feet, Mr Adachi's efforts have enabled it to reach depths of up to 27 feet (8 metres) with a single cast and rewind," says Swendseid.

This superior diving ability is due to the most advanced weight transfer system for deep-diving crankbaits, which will soon be used in professional bass fishing tournaments. The G87's enlarged magnetic ballast system keeps the drum bed hidden outside the body cavity, where it is held by a Neodymium magnet. This material is much stronger than standard magnesium and is essential for large bearing sizes.

The body of the 20A is approximately 3 inches (7.6 cm) long and weighs 35 grams (1-1/5 oz). Although heavy in appearance, it exhibits lower than expected water resistance and line tension during rewinding. Mr. Adachi' s goal was to create a lure that would easily travel far and deep into the darkest depths without any strain.
