Crankbait development without limits, with incredible performance

To stand out in the crankbait market, a company must have in-depth knowledge of hydrodynamics, materials, and components. It must provide excellent balance, castability, obstacle avoidance, unique yet proven vibration, and low line tension during retrieve. The development of the G87 20A was carefully planned by the DUO R&D team. Professional anglers have long desired a crankbait that can truly dive beyond 20 feet (6 meters) and accurately reach its target. While getting a lure deep is not a huge challenge, for a lure to remain balanced, slice through the air precisely like an arrow with minimal crosswind effects, stay in the strike zone longer, and exhibit low retrieve resistance requires extreme precision. Masahiro Adachi, DUO's chief designer, masterfully achieved all of this.

"During the two-year project, our R&D results set a new standard in deep-diving crankbaits. While most anglers are satisfied if their deep crank reaches 130 feet (approx. 40 meters) and are impressed if it performs above 150 feet (approx. 46 meters), the G87 20A consistently surpasses 200 feet (60 meters) with 12 lb line. Compared to the top deep cranks currently used by pro anglers, it can achieve an advantage of up to 80 feet (approx. 24 meters). Although the lure was designed for a depth of 20 feet, through Mr. Adachi's efforts, it can reach depths of up to 27 feet (8 meters) with a single cast and retrieve," says Swendseid.

This excellent diving capability in deep-diving crankbaits is due to the most advanced weight transfer system, which will soon be used in professional bass fishing tournaments. The G87's enlarged magnetic ballast system keeps the casting bearing hidden outside the body cavity, where a Neodymium magnet holds it. This material is much stronger than ordinary magnesium and is essential for the large-sized bearing.

The 20A's body is approximately 3 inches (7.6 cm) long and weighs 35 grams (1-1/5 oz). Although it appears heavy, it shows lower water resistance and line tension during retrieve than expected. Mr. Adachi's goal was to create a lure that effortlessly travels far and deep into the darkest depths, without any strain.
