Raid Japan has developed two contrasting types of bladed jigs: the Type-SPEED and Type-POWER models, representing “subtle” and “powerful” enticing effects. These types were created to catch fish that were difficult to tempt with traditional bladed jigs.

To create the perfect bladed jig, classic attributes such as strong vibration generated with slow retrieve were naturally required, but an opposing direction also became essential: subtle vibration and high responsiveness with fast retrieve.

Bladed jigs traditionally perform well in murky water, wind, wavy surfaces, or near snags. In Japan, however, clear water and open-water areas with fewer natural structures are common. In such environments, different lure behavior is needed: subtle vibration and adaptability to fast retrieve.

Considering these aspects, the Type-SPEED and Type-POWER were born – two lures of differing strengths, for two completely different situations.

Weight versions: 11g / 14g

The MAXXBLADE Type-POWER concept: “Powerful vibration that effectively entices even with slow retrieve”. Through the conscious difference between the two types, the Type-POWER is a specialist in truly strong vibrations. It can attract fish from long distances and works particularly well in murky, windy, or wavy water, as well as in weedy, bushy areas.

The lure's powerful, rhythmic vibration is easily perceptible during retrieve, allowing the angler to concentrate longer.

Previously, a weak point of bladed jigs was their low snag resistance – however, this has been significantly improved here. With the weed guard design, an optimal balance between snag-free operation and a good hook-up ratio has been achieved.

The weed guard allows for aggressive casting into hard-to-fish areas, opening up new tactics. The Type-POWER works excellent with robust trailers like the FULLSWING 4'/5' or the EGU CHUNK 4', creating even greater vibration and visual bulk – which in turn can motivate real “monsters” to strike.
