The idea for the EGU CHUNK came from attaching a soft bait to a rubber or football jig and creating a mid-depth swimming motion with a loosely held line (Jigusuto and Midosuto techniques). As this technique was used more and more, it was noticed that fish came from deeper and further away than expected. It was also observed that fish that swam from afar were more likely to bite the lure.

The question arose: if a lure could displace water more effectively, would it be able to attract fish from even further away? After long experimentation and trial-and-error, this chunk shape was born.

Its thick, heavy 'claws,' unseen in previous models, create powerful beats, while its wide arms, like a fan, spread water in all directions. The result is a strong vibration that easily surpasses the fish-attracting ability of traditional lures. But that's not all. Its side legs perform light movements, subtly fluttering, and its belly, ribbed like a crustacean, emits weak vibrations that provide long-lasting action. These intricate details result in contrasting movements, such as during fall and bottom retrieve, or swim and pause, which continue to attract and provoke bites from bass.

It can be used versatilely with Texas rig, leaderless down shot rig, free rig, and heavy Carolina rig. Naturally, it also works excellently as a jig trailer.
