The EGU CHUNK idea came from attaching a soft bait to a rubber or football jig and creating a mid-depth swimming action with a slack line (Jigusuto and Midosuto techniques). As this technique was used more and more, it was noticed that fish came from deeper and further away than expected. It was also observed that fish swimming in from a distance were more likely to bite the bait.

The question arose: if a bait could displace water more effectively, would it be able to attract fish from even further away? After long experimentation and trial and error, this chunk shape was born.

Its thick, heavy 'claws,' unseen on previous models, create powerful thumps, while its wide arms, like a fan, displace water in all directions. The result is a strong vibration that easily surpasses the fish-attracting ability of traditional baits. But that's not all. Its side legs perform light movements, gently hovering, and its belly, equipped with thin ribs like a crustacean, emits subtle vibrations that ensure prolonged action. These meticulous details result in contrasting movements, such as falling and bottom-retrieval, as well as swimming and pausing, which continue to entice and provoke bites from bass.
