Many crankbaits experience a "jogging" problem when they hit an obstacle. The impact disrupts the lure's swimming motion, it veers off course, and often tips onto its side, from which it doesn't return to its balanced state. This is not intentionally created chaotic movement, though it often appears to be. However, the M65 features a sophisticated ballast system located directly on the M65's lowest part, its spine. When the M65 hits an obstacle, the impact changes the lure's trajectory along the obstacle, but it immediately returns to its balanced state and continues its precise movement.

The M65 performance doesn't end with its movement. It has a highly sophisticated sound chamber. While other crankbaits use beads or balls to create sound, the M65 11A employs a sound deflector system. Perforated metal deflectors are vertically arranged in a chamber where a ball contacts each deflector, creating a unique sound that dissipates repeatedly. This dual-pitch sound is unique and not found elsewhere.
