In practice, the R4 reacts to every carp-induced indication, in any environment. Even when tips are bending from weed build-up on the line, or when a multi-thousand-hectare lake is choppy, the R4 will show everything you need to see, and nothing you don't. Roller Wheel Sensing

The factory default setting for the R4 is a smooth, simple sensing based on the line's movement on the roller. While superseded by Speed Sensing, it has specific use cases, such as winter zig fishing, where slow line tension is expected.

Speed Sensing

The two-level Speed Sensing reacts to line movement faster than 1 cm per second and 2 cm per second, eliminating false indications. Both settings include the innovative Drift Sensing Safeguard.

Wave Sensing

Two additional sensitivity settings utilize Wave Sensing technology to eliminate false indications caused by continuous wave action or boat fishing. Events are transmitted via the roller after line movement faster than 1 or 2 cm per second and longer than 15 or 30cm. Both settings include the Drift Sensing Safeguard.

Drift Sensing Safeguard

Another market first, the R4 Drift Sensing Safeguard protects against the rare possibility of the line 'bouncing off' the spool due to weed build-up, for example – when pressure and movement are not sufficient to activate the Speed Sensing system.

Guiding Light

The innovative Homecoming Mode is an ace among the R4's features – designed specifically for boat users, a rear LED is located on the alarm which, when lit, serves as a perfect guide for returning to the spot at night.

Night Glo

The perfect complement to the revolutionary R4 alarms, the new Night Glo indicator range connects directly to an LED output on the R4 alarms' cases, resulting in a fantastic pulsating Night Glo Bobbin or Swing Arm whenever the alarm lights up.

Color-matching indicator bodies that match the R4 alarms' LED colors, with an additional black body that lights up white.
