RAID JAPAN's goal was to create a crankbait developed specifically for shore fishing. The LEVEL CRANK embodies three key properties:

Casting Distance
With hard lures, the farther the cast, the greater the chance of a bite. The LEVEL CRANK compact body offers casting performance like a vibration lure. Furthermore, it can be targeted with extreme precision, which is fundamental for cranking in shallow water. This lure combines long casting distance and precise targeting – a rare combination.

Depth Retention
During shore fishing, it is essential for the lure to travel long and steadily in the optimal water layer. The goal of the development was a lure that moves predictably even in extremely shallow water. The LEVEL CRANK is tuned for super slow sinking, so as soon as it hits the water, it immediately begins its steady movement at 60–80 cm depth.

Snag-Evading Capability
The main locations for shore fishing are shallow, obstacle-filled areas – rocky bottoms, bushes, weed beds. Good "gliding" ability is essential to avoid these and trigger fish. While traditional crankbaits dive head-first, the LEVEL CRANK maintains the horizontal swimming position characteristic of the LEVEL series. This reduces the number of nose snags and allows for aggressive, yet effective attacks on the immediate vicinity of obstacles.

During development, these three aspects – casting distance, depth retention, snag evasion – were the most important. The LEVEL CRANK elevates cranking technique to a new level for every shore angler.
