The 'Small Shad' (small shad wobbler) is undeniably the hard bait that can withstand the harshest conditions on any water. Its small, natural shape makes it extremely effective in stalking passive or extremely cautious perch, whether in crystal clear or murky waters. The small shad is a type of lure that has undergone unique development in Japan. It was particularly favored in open waters with few snags, in shallow water layers up to 2 meters deep, twitchelve (jerking) or even with a simple retrieve.

The Dunk, however, offers a completely different and unique approach in the field of shad wobblers. It possesses two revolutionary features.

First, it is capable of fishing a wide depth range from 0.5 meters to as deep as 4.0 meters. On hard bottoms, many bites can be achieved even in shallow water of 0.5 meters with a simple, slow retrieve. Furthermore, the advantages of being able to target a sudden drop-off that deepens from 1.0 meter to 4.0 meters without changing lures are invaluable. And the ability to get a slender, 5 cm shad down to the 3.0-4.0 meter zone – which was previously only accessible with large, deep-diving crankbaits – represents a devastating power that surpasses imagination. The Dunk will likely be an unbeatable favorite in lakes where deep-diving crankbaits are ineffective due to high fishing pressure, or in situations where soft plastics fail.

The other innovation is the dramatic elimination of snagging, arguably the greatest weakness of shad wobblers. The Dunk operates in a swimming position more than 10 degrees steeper and nose-down than average shads, and is equipped with an extra-long lip (bill), achieving snag-free performance that far surpasses other lures. This feature dramatically increases the number of bites. In densely snaggy areas (where more perch are known to reside), the ability to fish more directly, brushing against snags, is a huge advantage. The irregular action (vibration) the lure produces when bouncing off obstacles also increases the chance of a strike.
