Shad wobblers are the hard lures that hold up best in difficult conditions. However, considering Japan's current fishing waters and seasonal changes, two completely opposite types of shad have become indispensable.

One of these is the crank-type shad. These imitate various baitfish, including small fish, shrimp, and crawfish, and perform excellently in the bed 'knocking' (bottom knocking) and obstacle avoidance (cover avoidance). They also need just the right body weight and appeal to remain noticeable even in murky water. In other words, these shads are effective when crankbaits are no longer catching fish, and the OSP brand's DUNK series is a prime example of this.

The other type is the minnow-type shad. These primarily imitate small fish and are used in clear or slightly murky (stained) waters, targeting the mid-water column (1.5-2.5 meters) – deeper than minnows' range – or even near the bottom. Their movement must produce realistic mid-water retrieval or a twitch/dart (flicking/slashing) action that bass cannot see through. Especially in high-pressure, clear-water lakes, fish are extremely selective about lure action, so a specially designed, tight, natural movement is essential. It is also important that it covers a wide range of movements, from cold water of about 5°C all the way to mid-summer.

The Hi-Cut features a non-rattle (rattle-free) design, ideal for clear-water lakes under high pressure. The body's interior is specifically designed for fixed center of gravity, with minimal internal ribbing, resulting in a slender, extremely responsive (well-reacting) body. As a result, it swims like a real baitfish and generates strikes with such force that even the most refined perch will react.

In recent years, the importance of free-retrieving for minnow-type shads has increased, not only alongside darting and twitching, but also due to its excellent swimming ability. For example, the slow retrieve performance essential in cold water and with the stop-and-go technique, as well as the exceptional swimming speed of the ultra-light Honeycomb Super HP (honeycomb structured) body, significantly increases the number of bites.

Furthermore, its tight, natural, super-high-pitch movement with reduced vibration entices modern, well-experienced perch to strike without suspicion.

Naturally, during darting (jerking) or twitching (flicking), it doesn't simply glide left and right, but performs a twisting, breaking movement (with axial roll), creating attractive flashing. The sudden trembling movement during pauses also increases the chances of a bite.

Thanks to its unique lip shape and weighting, it does not lose its balance or break out of its swimming lane even during fast-paced, repeated twitching, allowing it to continuously stay within the shad's natural depth range – one level deeper than a short-billed minnow.
