Shad wobblers are hard lures that stand up best in tough conditions. However, considering Japan's current fishing waters and seasonal changes, two completely opposite types of shad have become indispensable.

One of these is the crank-type shad. These imitate various forage animals, including baitfish, shrimp, and crayfish, and excel at 'bottom knocking' (bottom knocking) and 'cover avoidance' (cover avoidance). They also need just the right body weight and appeal to remain noticeable even in murky water. In other words, these shads are effective when crankbaits are no longer catching fish, and the OSP brand's DUNK series is an example of this.

The other type is the minnow-type shad. These primarily imitate baitfish and are used in clear or slightly murky (stained) waters, targeting the mid-water layer (1,5-2,5 meters) – deeper than the minnows' effective range – or even near the bottom. Their movement must produce a realistic mid-water retrieve or a twitch/dart (twitching/darting) action that bass cannot see through. Especially in high-pressure, clear-water lakes, fish are extremely selective about lure action, so a specially designed, tight (tight), natural movement is essential. It is also important that it covers a wide range of movements, from cold water around 5°C to mid-summer.

In recent years, the importance of steady retrieve (free-retrieving) has increased for minnow-type shads, not only alongside darting and twitching but also due to their excellent swimming ability. For example, the slow retrieve performance essential in cold water and with the stop-and-go (stop-and-go) technique, as well as the exceptional swimming speed of the ultralight Honeycomb Super HP (honeycomb structured) body, significantly increases the number of bites.

Furthermore, its tight (tight), natural, super-high-pitch (super-high-pitch) movement with reduced vibration entices bites from modern, well-seen bass without suspicion.

Naturally, during darting (darting) or twitching (twitching), it doesn't just glide left and right, but performs a twisting, bursting movement (with axial rolling, roll), which creates attractive flashes (flashing). The sudden trembling movement upon stopping also increases the chances of a bite.

Thanks to its unique lip shape and weighting, it doesn't lose balance or break out of its swimming path even during fast-paced, repeated twitching, allowing it to constantly remain in the shad's natural depth range – one level deeper than a short-lipped minnow.
