The Daibajin was developed to target big bass that do not respond to normal-sized topwater crankbaits, or for situations where size matters due to terrain or weather conditions. For example, even if bass are hiding under cover, or in shallow areas where wavy or murky water makes it difficult for them to detect the lure, its strong, persistent wake exerts attraction over a wide area, creating numerous bite opportunities. Special attention was paid to its attractiveness, which is so strong that it can suddenly lure deep-suspended bass to the surface. To enhance the unique performance of this large size, we focused on the internal structure, which resulted in a design completely different from the original Basin. To give it greater appeal not just by increasing its size, we used a semi-flat body with strong water displacement capability. The resulting strong vibration and flashing attract bass from a wide area. Furthermore, the loss of accuracy that tends to occur with a large, vertical lip was minimized through the body shape, weight position, and lip shape. The Honeycomb Super HP body, whose efficiency increases with size, combined with the extremely sharp, light, and ultra-thin HP Slashbill (lip) technology, provides a next-level, ultra-high-pitch action response. This effect makes it difficult for the bass to recognize [the lure] even during slow retrieve, increasing the number of bites under all conditions. Furthermore, it is no exaggeration to say that the maximum depth setting can be a matter of life or death for a topwater crankbait. For a bite to occur at the perfect moment when the lure starts swimming, it is crucial that it rises to the surface after entering the water and creates a wake within three turns of the reel handle. This performance is impossible with lures that dive 10 cm. In other words, 'they should be hard to dive and hard to jump out'. Achieving these two contradictory performance characteristics is the biggest challenge, and since every member of the Basin series overcomes this at the highest level, we believe they meet the requirements of a high-performance topwater crankbait.
