Shad wobblers usually bring to mind sensitive lures used with fine, light gear. However, the Power Dunk can also be used with baitcasting (multiplier) gear to exploit its unique catching potential, whether it's for smaller bass in small lakes, steeply deepening reservoirs, fish in deep rivers, or even large lakes where we target specimens over 50 cm.

Its effectiveness is most apparent in 'dead' situations when fish no longer react to the wide wobble of deep-diving crankbaits. Such situations include periods of low water temperature from autumn to spring, when bass slow down; clear-water lakes where crankbaits are less effective; or even highly pressured reservoirs, regardless of the season.

One reason it can handle these situations is its incredible casting distance, belying its compact body size. The way it cuts through headwinds far surpasses the category of shad wobblers. It's an invaluable advantage to use a shad to locate bass in large, wind-exposed lakes during the most difficult times.

Its maximum diving depth reaches 4.2 meters (with 8 lb fluorocarbon line). In normal use, its main diving range is 2-4 meters, but when fishing on a hard bottom, strikes can be achieved from as little as 0.5 meters of water by slowly dragging it along the bottom.

Another huge advantage is that it is less prone to snagging in any type of cover, including rocky areas and weeds. While it is generally believed that shads perform poorly in snaggy terrain, this lure has successfully overturned that stereotype. It is particularly rare for a shad to be able to employ the 'hang-off' (snag-and-pop) technique: when the lure is gently bumped against dense weeds (where bass often reside), then quickly popped away. Mastering this technique is guaranteed to improve your catch results.
