Shad wobblers are generally associated with sensitive lures used with fine, light tackle. However, the Power Dunk can also be used with baitcasting (multiplier) tackle to exploit its unique catching potential, whether in small lakes with smaller perch, steeply deepening reservoirs, deep river fish, or even large lakes where specimens over 50 cm are targeted.

Its effectiveness is most evident in 'dead' situations when fish no longer react to the wide action of deep-diving crankbaits. Such situations include the low water temperature period from autumn to spring when perch slow down; clear-water lakes where crankbaits are less effective; or reservoirs under high fishing pressure regardless of the season.

One reason it can handle these situations is its astonishing casting distance, belying its compact body size. The way it cuts through headwinds far surpasses the category of shad wobblers. It is an invaluable advantage to be able to use a shad to search for perch in large, wind-exposed lakes during the most difficult times.

Its maximum diving depth reaches 4.2 meters (with 8lb fluorocarbon line). In normal use, its main diving range is 2-4 meters, but when fishing on a hard bottom, bites can be achieved from as little as 0.5 meters of water by slowly dragging it along the bottom.

Another huge advantage is that it is less prone to snagging on any type of obstacle, including rocky areas and weeds. While it is generally believed that shads perform poorly in snaggy terrain, this lure has successfully overturned that stereotype. It is particularly rare for a shad to be able to apply the 'hang-off' (snag-and-release) technique: when the lure is gently bumped against dense weeds (where perch often reside) and then quickly flicked away. Mastering this technique is guaranteed to improve your catch results.
