OSP Asura II Suspend 9,25cm 8,4gr RPO69 Real Perch Wobbler

The original Ashura OSP was released in the spring of 2001, and as it was continuously manufactured every year, the mold reached the end of its lifespan. There's a good reason why it maintained its unrivaled position in the market for so many years.

This was the first 9 cm category wobbler equipped with three hooks, with the front hook pushed backward to prevent line entanglement while ensuring the hooks don't snag each other. Despite its slender body, the low-riding internal eye allows the weight ball to 'climb' over the eye and roll all the way to the end of the tail section (increasing casting distance). The horizontal fixing eye ensures an even distance for the hook points on both sides, dramatically improving the hook-up ratio. The body cross-section is angular instead of round, which increases volume, allowing more weight to be incorporated into the suspending design, increasing the lure's weight and casting distance. The flat sides produce strong flashes (flashing) during jerking (twitching) and stops (pause), increasing the number of bites. The often-neglected balance between consistent retrieval (free reeling) and jerk performance was achieved with a rear-inserted bib which maintains its indestructible strength despite a thin base. The Ashura OSP remained at the top for years because it was full of innovations that elevated it far above the others.

We could have carried on the original Ashura design, but we decided to renew the mold. However, we chose a different design approach to increase the number of catches and further enhance the lure's value. To achieve this, we utilized accumulated development know-how and adjusted the specifications to the demands of 'modern', much-seen bass.

The replacement of the bib (lip) made the lure's tendency to 'flutter' (flutter__32__) more natural during fast retrieves, and resulted in a sharp jerk movement that includes a momentary stop with explosive speed. (The original, rear-inserted bib was structurally recessed into the body, and the weight of the surrounding material supporting it resulted in a forward-leaning posture. Additionally, due to the minimal fitting clearance required for manufacturing, the bib could slip, often requiring 'tuning' of the fixing eye.)

The new, one-piece cast, carefully adjusted bib improved the wobbler's straight retrieve and provided a more horizontal [floating] posture. The fixed weight was also replaced from a round ball to a low center of gravity, plate-shaped weight, improving stability during retrieval and recovery from roll. The hook was changed from heavy wire to regular wire to better respond to cautious, 'short bites' (short bites) is.

The Ashura II inherited the outstanding performance of the original model while adding new features to catch modern bass, thus taking another evolutionary step.
