The Major Craft MS-1 MSS-F701M is a one-piece, 2.13 meter long Medium Light spinning rod, with a casting weight range up to 10 g (nominally) and an Extra Fast Taper. The MS-1 MSS-F701M is an ideal choice for fishing larger perch, especially when working with lures up to 8 g.

Depending on the bait type, Hard Body Crankbaits with a maximum weight of 6 g that run up to 1 m deep, 5 g Chatterbaits with a trailer, 40–60 mm long Minnow / Twitchbaits that run up to 1.5 m deep, Finesse Rigs for lures with a maximum weight of 8 g and 2–3 inch soft plastic lures, and 5 g Skirted Jigs with a trailer are recommended.
