The Mustad Aberdeen Slow Death BR 1 hook is a specially designed Aberdeen-style model, developed specifically for slow-trolling, natural bait techniques. The bent shank of the hook creates a unique movement: when a half-fish or earthworm is threaded onto it, the bait produces a wild, intense spinning action even at slow speeds. This movement reaches areas that traditional, straight-shank hooks usually cannot effectively fish.
The versatility of the technique is due to the hook's shape, which allows the bait to be presented in cracks, crevices, and smaller corners where predators often hide. Rigging is simple: a bottom-bouncing weight should be attached to the main line, followed by a 48”/122 cm long monofilament or fluorocarbon leader. The bait should be threaded onto the hook shank and hook eye so that no more than 1/2”/1.5 cm hangs off the hook.
The hook is made with 4.3 UltraPoint® technology, which ensures an extremely sharp and durable needle point.
