Improvements compared to NTX-R:

- Manually selectable day and night mode
- Externally adjustable LED brightness (Vari-Bright) can be tuned to the specific situation (3 daytime LED brightness settings for day mode and 3 different ones for night mode) adjustable with the button on the battery cover
- The larger roller and improved water drainage significantly reduce the chance of the roller freezing in extreme conditions
- Can be used at a greater distance with the RX+ receiver
- Improved sensitivity adjustment (see below)

When switched on using the rear switch, it behaves in the following ways:
- When the bivvy light function is active, the LED brightness is dimmer to avoid dazzling.
- To avoid annoying false bites, the light only switches on if at least three indications occur within a short period.
- If the light turns on once, it will remain lit until the last LED on the receiver unit turns off, which requires 5 seconds of inactivity, after which it fades out.
