The Long Cast is a robustly built reel that remains relatively lightweight, with the larger size weighing just 534 grams. One of its special features is the 100% dust and drop resistant precision quick brake, which can be almost fully locked in half a turn. Why is this necessary? During long distance fishing, if the brake is not fully closed, if it is not stabilised, the line can slip during a dynamic cast, which can cause serious finger injuries. The chances of this happening can be completely eliminated with a quick movement. Of course, the filclamella dust-protected brake works flawlessly and feeds the line gently at any brake setting. In addition, the rotor brake - particularly important on distance spools - blocks the rotor from turning when the pick-up is open, preventing the pick-up arm from accidentally snapping back during casting. A medium (4.6:1) gear ratio is housed in a reduced-size, graceful red and black body. The 6+1bearing in the body provides a light, smooth ride. Precise line presentation is ensured by the super-slow (it goes up and down in 9 crankshaft revolutions), pulley-shaft reel lift. Its large diameter (69 mm) aluminium spacer reel not only allows fast line retraction, butthe newly developed spacer exit edgeallows the line to be reeled off quickly and with much less drag. A common feature of rim spools is that the line can wind under the drum if used carelessly. To avoid this, an "anti-tangle frame" is placed under the drum on the reel, which is practically invisible. The drum is of course fitted with 2rounded metal line clips . The bearing-guided line guide roller is guaranteed not to twist the line, it precisely puts it in place.
