The English name for the family of lure is “lipless lure” – it means bait without a deflector. Many types of lure fall into this category, including most vertical or rod wobblers. However, the Thoki is an elongated, “minnow”-like version of lures without a deflector, which are also commonly called “stick bait” in foreign jargon. Its 8cm length is accompanied by a 14g weight , which, thanks to its very good aerodynamic properties, makes it the furthest-throwing bait available on the domestic market in proportion to its size. One might think that if it does not have a deflector, then the lure must definitely be pulled with some kind of jerking technique (jerk, twitch). Of course, we can drive it like this, but thanks to its special nose design, the Thoki also has its own left-right swinging action, so in most cases it is enough to pull in at a constant pace, we just need to find the optimal speed to trigger the predators to attack. Thanks to its sinking nature, we can scan the entire depth of the water column with it, and it is effective even when stopped.
