When longer distances are required, it is very useful to use distance throwing leaders, one of the most brilliant of which is the TF XPS MATCH TAPER LEADER, which is transparent and fast sinking. This leader is 15 meters long and has a special design. The fitting side starts with the thicker 9m section. This length is sufficient to withstand the initial high forces encountered when casting, so that long distances can be achieved without loss of tackle. This section is followed by a 4m transition section, leading from the thicker diameter to the thinner side that matches the main line. The mainline side of the foresail is 2m long, at which point the foresail has been tapered back to the size of the mainline, allowing it to be tied to the mainline using a knot.
