The Lew’s Team HyperMag baitcast reel is an ultra-light, premium multiplier reel designed for the highest level of performance and durability. The HyperMag model is Lew’s flagship, perfectly blending modern technology, advanced material usage, and ergonomic design.
The reel's frame is made from a single piece of magnesium, providing exceptional lightness and strength. The side plates are made from C40 carbon composite, bringing the total weight of the reel to just 147 grams (5,2 oz), which is remarkably low in its category. This lightweight construction prevents hand fatigue during long fishing sessions, while maintaining stability and durability.
The drivetrain is made with Lew’s Speed Gears® technology, manufactured on Hamai CNC machines, ensuring perfect gear alignment and smooth operation. The P2 Super Pinion® double-supported gear provides long lifespan and precise power transfer. The reel features 10+1 stainless steel, double-shielded ball bearings, offering smooth and quiet operation under all conditions.
The braking system is the QuietCast® 4-point centrifugal brake (ACB), which is externally adjustable, allowing for fine-tuning of casts to suit conditions. The carbon fiber disc drag system provides high braking power, enabling safe handling of trophy fish. The gear ratio is 8,3:1, allowing for fast line retrieve, pulling in up to 86 cm of line with one crank rotation. This is particularly advantageous for fast-moving lures, such as spinnerbaits or topwater baits.
