Taking Kevin Nash's market-leading speed sensor signalling concept from the R3 beacon, the R4 offers control and functionality that connects the angler to their tackle in ways previously thought impossible. Intelligent sensing has been made even smarter. In practice, the R4 responds to any signal from a carp in any environment. Even when spikes are warped by seaweed accumulated on the line, or when a thousand-acre lake is rippling, the R4 will show everything it should see and nothing it shouldn't. No beacon has ever been able to detect false signals at this level. Smart sensing just got even smarter. Roller Wheel Sensing The factory setting for the R4 is a smooth, simple sensing based on the movement of the line on the roller. While it outperforms Speed Sensing, there are specific uses, such as winter zigging when slow line tensioning is expected. Speed Sensing Two levels of Speed Sensing respond to line displacement faster than 1 cm per second or 2 cm per second, eliminating false signals. Both settings incorporate the innovative Drift Sensing Safeguard. Wave Sensing Two additional sensitivity settings use Wave Sensing technology to eliminate false signals from continuous waves or boat fishing. Events are displayed on the reel after line displacements faster than 1 or 2 cm per second and longer than 15 or 30 cm. Both settings will include Drift Sensing Safeguard. Drift Sensing Safeguard New to the market, the R4's Drift Sensing Safeguard protects against the rare possibility of the line 'bouncing' off the drum due to accumulation of seaweed - for example, when pressure and displacement are insufficient to trigger the Speed Sensing system.

Guiding Light The innovative Homecoming Mode is a trump card among the R4's features - designed specifically for boat users, it features a rear LED on the indicator which, when lit, acts as the perfect guide to finding your way back to your spot at night.

Night Glo The perfect complement to the revolutionary R4 beacons, the new Night Glo beacon family connects directly to an LED output on the R4 beacon housing, creating a great pulsing Night Glo Bobbin or Swing Arm whenever the beacon is lit. Colour-matching beacon bodies that match the LED colours of the R4 beacons, with an additional black body that glows white.
