Truly good competition baits must meet several criteria, as a competition always presents many challenges to the angler. When creating Promix Competition wafters, we set several goals, which these baits fully achieve.
Due to versatility, both 6mm and 8mm sizes were placed in one jar, in a 25-75% ratio, collecting years of experience, we roughly placed these 2 sizes on our hair rigs in this proportion. The 6mm size, harmonizing with the smallest hooks and finest leaders, can bring a breakthrough in tougher situations, while the 8mm bait is in most cases perfectly sized and buoyant for average sized hooks and hair rigs.
Regarding colors, we chose the strongest fluo colors, and of those, the 4 most necessary and easily variable are pink, orange, lemon, and white. These almost glow on the seabed, providing easy targets for fish.
Regarding flavors, considering our personal experiences and sales statistics from recent years, the 4 most popular are krill-mussel, mango, sweet pineapple, and (yogurt)butyric acid flavor profiles. These, like the 4 colors, can be successfully used on our hair rigs in all 4 seasons.
