Technik H15 XTE LED+USB Type-C Rechargeable Headlamp detailed description

The Technik H15 rechargeable XTE LED + USB Type-C 300 lumens headlamp is designed to meet the needs of hikers and runners. The headlamp is capable of a maximum luminous flux of 220 lumens, provided by its main light source, a CREE XTE LED. The lifespan of this LED chip can reach several thousand hours. In addition to the maximum brightness level, the lamp also has 3 other pre-programmed levels, so the luminous flux can be adjusted depending on the situation. The lamp also has two additional red LED chips, which serve as auxiliary light sources. They have low brightness but are very useful, for example, they do not blind companions during night group running, and insects' visual organs perceive red light less. It is capable of constant illumination and flashing red light. In addition to these, motion sensors have been placed in the headlamp as a further useful function, with which the lamp can be switched on or off without pressing a button, which is, of course, optional.

Regarding the design of the lamp body, it is made of hard polycarbonate, which received a thin rubberized layer as a final finish. This makes it resistant to drops from greater heights. During factory drop tests, it was found to be protected up to a height of 3 meters. Its lens is made of anti-reflective plastic, so it does not absorb most of the light, meaning almost all of the emitted light is utilized. The control interface, consisting of 2 buttons, is located on top of the lamp. One button is for constant illumination, and short presses allow switching between levels. The other button operates the motion-sensor lighting on the same principle.

The lamp is powered by a built-in 700mAh Lithium-polymer battery. It can be charged using a USB-C port located on the side of the lamp under a waterproof rubber cover. The device can be fully charged in practically less than an hour. The charging process can be monitored in real-time, as the charge level indicator is located at the bottom of the lamp in the form of 5 small blue LEDs.

The lamp weighs only 56 grams, so it does not strain the neck even during long-term wear. The forehead support part is made of plastic, which comfortably rests on the user's head. Its rubberized black headband is adjustable in size, providing stable support. During tests, it received an IP65 dust and water resistance rating, so it can be used safely even in the heaviest rain and is resistant to dust.
