Mainline Clones are designed to provide a durable hookbait that can be fished over particle feed and matches it in colour and flavour.
The main purpose of Clones, as the name suggests, is to 'clone' the particles or spod mix you've deployed, replicating it as a 'match the hatch' hookbait that is much more practical to use than the particle baits themselves.
Especially because some particle baits are too small or too soft to actually use on our rig, and particularly when we want to be sure that the bait is still on the hair and performing as it should for longer periods – such as baits like sweetcorn.
Sweetcorn has been a carp bait since the 1970s and has played a role in catching countless carp over the years, and even today it remains one of the most effective carp baits, having recently regained popularity.
Clones Sweetcorn pop-ups and wafters are bright yellow in colour and have a pleasant corn flavour/scent.
These are truly great hookbaits when fished over golden corn kernels.
