The Klor hook pattern was designed and created by Danny Fairbrass to be an aggressive, strong, fast-turning hook with brilliant hooking potential for various rigs. It is manufactured by one of the best Japanese hook makers and is incredibly strong. It has proven capable of handling big carp fishing in extreme conditions both domestically and abroad.
The Klor has a very aggressive shape (even more so than our Kurv Shank hook), with the point in line with the eye, which causes it to turn quickly and catch the carp's mouth. The curved shank and turned-out eye also mean the hook can be used without shrink tubing or a hook aligner.
Suitable for use with braided line, coated hooklinks (if the coating is stripped back before the hook), and for the combi rig.
The hook point is long, extremely sharp, and slightly inturned, ensuring the most secure hook hold possible. It is much less likely to be damaged by nuisance species like crayfish and small fish moving it on the bottom, especially when fishing over gravel.
Its wire is thick, resulting in a very strong hook that can be used in weedy or snaggy conditions, even when using braid, without fear of it straightening out. During testing, Danny landed carp weighing over 60lb from wild French waters full of snags. Despite the hook's thickness, the point remains very sharp, and once the hook penetrates, the barb ensures it stays in place.
