A characteristic of this weight is that when cast and the line is held taut, it sinks 1 meter in 1 second. With the help of a stopwatch, it is easy to calculate how much time passes from the splash until the weight hits the bottom, which, of course, corresponds to the depth of our fishing spot. And that's not all! The weight contains 8 removable brass lamellae. So, if we remove half of them, i.e., four, then the sinking rate will only be 0.5 meters in 1 second. Thanks to this, we can effectively measure shallow waters too!
