The Avid VTX 4+1 Electronic Bite Alarm Set is a comprehensive, professional setup that includes four bite alarm heads and a central receiver unit. The package is designed to include all necessary accessories for durable use, such that clip-on hard cases for the alarms, a carrying strap for the receiver, and a screwdriver for battery changes are all part of the set. The heart of the alarms is a bidirectional sensing roller wheel, capable of distinguishing forward and backward line movement at eight different sensitivity levels, ensuring precise detection of even drop-back bites.
Visual feedback is provided by the Multi-light LED system, which operates visible dual LEDs in green, blue, red, and yellow colors, also offering an optional night light function. Communication between the alarms and the receiver is guaranteed by VTX EPS technology, providing stable signal transmission up to a distance of 150 meters. Security is enhanced by the SafeGuard anti-theft alarm system, which immediately warns if an alarm head is switched off, and the receiver's beeping memory helps to recall which rod produced the last bite.
The devices feature a weather-resistant housing that protects the digital components from moisture, while low power consumption ensures long operating times using two AAA batteries. A built-in Piezo speaker provides clear and crisp audio signaling, while low battery status is indicated by a special cyan LED on the alarm head and a display on the receiver when powered on. Stable placement of the rods is facilitated by deep, rod-friendly rubber inserts, and secure, anti-twist fastening is ensured by the rigid 3/8" screw thread, locking ring, and rubber washer.
The control interface consists of soft-touch side buttons for adjusting tone and light settings, while sensitivity and volume can be fine-tuned with two separate adjustment dials. The set's 2.5 mm output jack is equipped with a weather-resistant plug, allowing for the connection of illuminated swingers.
