The Avid VTX Bite Alarm is a versatile, precision electronic bite alarm designed for the high expectations of modern carp fishing. The heart of the device is a bidirectional sensing roller wheel, adjustable in eight different sensitivity levels, reliably indicating even the slightest forward or backward line movement. Visual feedback is provided by clearly visible twin LEDs, adjustable in four colors – green, blue, red, and yellow – complemented by an optional night function for orientation in the dark.
During the alarm's construction, special attention was paid to durability and safety. The weather-resistant housing effectively protects the sensitive internal electronics from precipitation while allowing for low power consumption. Stable operation requires two AAA batteries, whose low charge level is indicated by a cyan LED. The SafeGuard anti-theft alarm system provides extra peace of mind, reacting with an immediate audible signal if the alarm head is unauthorizedly disconnected on the bank.
The device is operated by soft-touch side buttons and two separate rotary knobs, which precisely control volume, sensitivity, tone, and light settings. An integrated piezo speaker is responsible for the clarity of audible signals. Deep, rubber-lined ears guarantee the protection and secure fastening of rods, while the stability of fastening is ensured by the 3/8" threaded, anti-twist connection, which is also equipped with a lock and a rubber washer.
The bite alarm has a 2.5 mm power output with a protective cap for connecting illuminated swingers or bobbins. VTX EPS technology offers stable, 150-meter range signal transmission to the receiver unit, which is particularly advantageous for long-range fishing. The package includes a durable, slide-on hard case for transport and a screwdriver for battery replacement, and the system can be further expanded as needed with separately purchased kits and receivers.
