The shrink tube is a special plastic tube that shrinks when heated (lighter flame, hot water). This is practical for tying eyed hooks: we slide a larger diameter tube onto the hook, and by heating it, we get the tightest, most secure knot protector material. It is also excellent for making special rigs. Exceptionally effective hook-ups can be achieved with it, as the shrink-tubed rig allows us to fix the hook at the correct angle. The rig created this way works perfectly in almost all cases, holding the bait securely, whereas with silicone tubes, it often happens that they slip or bend, which more frequently leads to the fish ejecting the hook.
