Fish protection is now a fundamental requirement for every conscious angler – and one of its most important tools is the appropriate carp mat. These soft, well-padded surfaces ensure that caught fish are not injured during unhooking and weighing. The design of modern carp mats is no longer just about function, but also practicality: they dry easily, are foldable, and simple to transport.
Prowess mats are an excellent choice for those who pay special attention to the well-being of fish. Their thick padding and high edges prevent the fish from rolling off or drying out on the mat. Some models also feature a water-repellent cover or lid, which provides extra security during longer procedures.
Why isn't a simple rug enough under the fish?
Smooth surfaces don't provide adequate protection for the fish – scales can be damaged, or the fish might even jump out and injure itself.
Which type of mat is best?
It depends on how much and where you fish. Thick, rigid-walled models are safer for large carp, while more compact, roll-up types are ideal for shorter sessions or touring.
Do I need a separate case for the carp mat?
Not always, but a separate case makes clean and dry storage easier, especially in a car or campervan.
How do I clean it after use?
Rinsing with lukewarm water, without soap, is best. It's important to let it dry completely before storing.
Garbolino also offers ergonomic, thick mats that are ideal even in a competition environment. In the TackleBait webshop, you can easily select the model that suits you – whether by price or size – and use it by the water within a few days.
