The original Korda Longshank X was based on the popular original hook designs that were loved by carp anglers for their shape and hooking ability - we made them much stronger and sharper. 20 years later Danny Fairbass has refined this special hook again. Inspired by his experience with the film Underwater, Danny decided to make two significant changes to one of his favourite shapes, making it an even more lethal option in his arsenal. The first change was to turn the tip inwards. In tests, this provided a more secure hook hold for carp that had been hooked, significantly increasing the rate of fish being brought to shore. The second change was to bend the hook eye even further. The original design had a 20 degree bent eye, with the new version we have increased this to 40 degrees. This helps the hook to turn quickly and easily in the carp's mouth, ensuring a consistently good hook hold. Like the original model, the Longshank Beaked is made of sturdy steel wire while having a PTFE coating.
