The characteristic of this weight is that, when thrown in and the line held taut, it will sink 1 metre in 1 second. With the help of a stopwatch, you can easily calculate how long it takes from the splash to the weight coming off, which is the same as the depth of your fishing spot. And that's not all! The weight has 8 removable copper plates. So, if you remove half of them, i.e. four, the sinking will be only 0.5 metres in 1 second. This allows us to measure shallow water effectively!
