Wizard Monster River Double Upose PRO Monobraid Rig

A leader designed for use in river fishing. We developed this leader for the professional elevated bottom fishing technique, and it is also recommended for drop off rigs. Its structure includes a swivel, monofilament leader line, upose float, rattle, hook, braided leader, hook, and knot protectors. In terms of operation, the underwater float lifts the hook from the bottom, ensuring that the bait is at the right height when the catfish approaches.

The auxiliary hook is attached to the main hook with a braided line, allowing the bait to remain in a more natural position in the current. It’s advisable to place the float 15-20 cm from the hook. The rig is available with floats of different buoyancies depending on the bait. The smallest, 10g, is suitable for small baitfish, up to palm-size, while the 30g type is designed for larger baitfish, even up to half a kilogram. Choose a sliding weight based on the size of the bait. For soft-bodied baits, a 100g weight may suffice.

For live baitfish: the larger the baitfish, the heavier the weight should be on the rig. For smaller baitfish, up to palm-size, a 200-250g weight is recommended. For larger baitfish, 300-350g may be needed to ensure the rig isn’t moved by the movement of the fish. The weight also depends on the strength of the current: the stronger the current, the heavier the weight should be.

For this leader, it’s advisable to hook the baitfish onto the smaller auxiliary hook, attaching it through the nose so that it faces the current, ensuring a more natural movement, which increases the chances of a successful catch.

The attached rattle provides a more intense sound, enhancing the likelihood of a strike.
